In this instance, we’d recommend Zinnser Perma White Mould Resistant Paint. Painting the ceiling in a bathroom where there are high levels of humidity means the surface is prone to condensation and mould or mildew growth. The best ceiling paint for bathrooms is slightly different. It also offers excellent coverage so although it may appear pricier than other flat white emulsions available, its high opacity and coverage capabilities make it worth the extra few pounds. It has a non-drip formula and is very easy to apply, either by brush, roller or spray. ![]() With an exceptionally high opacity, it produces a deep, flat matt finish regardless of the light angle. ![]() Tikkurila Anti-Reflex 2 is a water-based latex paint that eliminates flashing and hides imperfections on ceilings such as small dents and uneven surfaces. Our recommendation would be Tikkurila Anti-Reflex 2 or ‘AR2’ as it’s commonly known. The mud may not do the trick.Generally speaking, a water-based flat finish paint is best for ceilings as it hides a multitude of sins thanks to its low light-reflecting properties. I think that the old dry wall tape has to be totally removed all the way around the cieling and joints and replaced with fiberglass dry wall tape. The spakle did not hold and I am back to square one. Also, what type of drywall tape should I use to reseal the joints? Is the new fiber glass tape the best option to prevent this from happening again? Will this keep happening but of heat in the winter time and AC in the Spring, Summer and Fall? A friend tried dto apply general spackle on the stucco art as he was not experienced with how to repalce stucco. What is the best way to deal with this situation andthe stucco? I am not a big fan of stucco but I do not want to damage the cieling. I am a novice at home repairs but willign to make the attempt at repairing the tape. I can see the crack lines in the stuco where the drywall tape has pulled loose. ![]() The problem I face is that all of the cielings are stucco with a swirl design. I have a 17 year old townhouse where most of the drywall tape has pulled loose from the the cieling and drywall and also in the corner joints. ![]()
